Nature Re-imagined
After visiting a AI generated art exhibition in London it got me thinking about the role of AI in the art world. This project developed into a piece I entered into the Glass Bienalle 2024, and was one of my accepted works that year. This piece is currently on display at The Stourbridge Glass Museum.

‘Nature Reimagined’ represents the role of AI in a creative, yet digitally dependent world. AI is a polarising subject amongst makers - some fear it heralds a mechanisation of craft, undermining creativity. This surrealist version of a gecko clinging to a tree stump is a prototype for a larger series exploring the relationship between art and AI. Whilst AI may produce whimsical effects, results are nothing but a ‘digital mashup’ of original material.

This piece invites viewers to unleash their imagination – to examine the boundary between material originating entirely in their mind, and what is a digitally enhanced version of reality.
During the International festival of glass 2024 Bienalle Weekend I was also fortunate enough to be able to hire Allister Malcolm's workshop ​at the Stourbridge Glass Museum where I demonstrated a new version of 'Nature Re-Imagined' being made that included a Blue multi-coloured tree trunk with sparkly Octopus Tentacles coming out of it. Thanks To Allister Malcolm and his daughter Scarlet Malcolm for assisting me for this demonstration. Big thanks to everyone who came to watch and made it such a memorable day!

I am currently in the process of getting the bases of these works finished and polished up ready for some professional photographs.
