GLASS EDUCATION/COURSES

​

Nominated by Wolverhampton University to be its representative on a scholarship program to attend a course at Pilchuck Glass School, Stanwood, WA, America. I have been accepted on Roberto Beltrami and Matteo Tagliapietra's course 'Transcending tradition'.             

 

Nominated by Wolverhampton university to be its representative on a scholarship program to attend a course at Pilchuck Glass School. I attended Aya Oki's course.

Joined the University of Wolverhampton from a second year to obtain a degree in Applied Arts, predominantly focussing in hot glass.

​

 Attended a couple of Elliot Walker's 'Gather Up' sessions in The red House Cone, Stourbridge and the House of     Marbles, Devon.

 3 weeks work experience at Peter Layton's London Glassblowing.

​

Glass Associate at Dudley College, working at Glassblowing and Flame torching every Friday under the tuition of Stephen Foster.                                              

​

- A day at London Glassblowing studio, glass blowing with Louis Thompson.

- A 3 day course in glass casting at the Glass Hub. 

- A 3 day course in lamp-working with Ray Skene at the Glass Hub.

- A 2 day private tutorial in lamp-working with Sarah Downton.

- A 3 day masterclass at the Glass Hub in glassblowing and idea development with Louis Thompson.

A 15 week course (one day a week) at the Creative Glass Guild, learning the basics of fusing, slumping, sand            blasting, enamel painting and stained glass working and leading.

GLASS WORKING EXPERIENCE

​

Currently working as a full time assistant and glassblower at Allister Malcolm at Allister Malcolm Glass Ltd, and selling my own work.

 

Gaffer at Allister Malcolm Glass ltd on the opening day of the Stourbridge Glass Museum. Assistant demonstrator during the private openings of the Museum. 

​

Performed demonstrations as Gaffer and assistant to Ryan Ashcroft and Tim Boswell at the Red House Cone,          Stourbridge. 

 

Assisted the 'Bandits of Glass' at an open day demonstration at the University of Wolverhampton, and have also        assisted Stephen Foster and Elliot Walker on a number of occasions. 

​

Assisted Stephen Foster during a demonstration at Art in Action.

 

Worked full time for a year as a assistant to Martin Andrews, at his glass blowing workshop in Stourbridge.

Solo exhibition for 6 weeks at The Zetter Hotel in London. 

 

Work displayed on several occasions for Simon Bruntnell at Bruntnell Astley exhibitions.
